Company History

1939

Believing that lightweight block would revolutionize the construction of office building and residential homes, the Basalt Rock Company of Napa built a residential project on site at the World’s Fair for everyone visiting to see.  They wanted the world to see their new high performance, lightweight block in action.   The concrete block product was named……. Basalite®.

Sustainability

Using clay or concrete masonry or for construction is the sustainable choice, and has numerous environmental benefits.

Clay or concrete masonry lasts longer and requires little maintenance, the need to manufacture new materials is reduced with every new building. Our Clay and concrete masonry materials can be recycled for other projects into new masonry materials or aggregates. The ability to reuse existing masonry buildings, including entire structures or the core structure, further enhances its sustainable properties.

At Basalite®, we are committed to being the best in the industry. Our focus now, just as it was when we opened our doors all those years ago, is on service, quality and innovation. Those are the values that have made us the industry leader we are today and the same principles that will guide us far into the future.
